Bryan Jackson, a 31-year-old African American tattoo artist, was shot dead inside his combined home and tattoo parlor in the 100 block of McKinnie Avenue in Stowe Township on May 8, 2019. The shooting occurred about 2:30 a.m., shortly after Jackson had completed a tattoo for a client, 25-year-old Terrance Murphy of Stowe. A witness said Murphy allegedly shot Jackson at least twice immediately after the session; the witness escaped by climbing out a bedroom window onto a neighboring roof.

Jackson was found on the second floor with multiple gunshot wounds, taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. Detectives identified Murphy from the witness description, noting distinctive tattoos including Trinity above his left eye and a depiction of Jesus behind his right ear. Murphy was located the same day in Ambridge and charged with one count of criminal homicide.

Does anyone have information about Bryan’s work, the studio, or the events that night that could help clarify what happened?
