Harry Kennedy Jr., 49, a Black man from Farrell, Pennsylvania, was found inside a residence in the 500 block of Wallis Avenue after authorities responded to the scene and discovered he had suffered an apparent gunshot wound. The Mercer County Coroner’s Office ruled his death a homicide, listing the cause as a gunshot wound. Investigators say the shooting occurred during an attempted robbery allegedly aimed at cash and narcotics inside the home.
Police identified two men in connection with the case. Gerald Allen Frank, 27, of Pittsburgh, was accused of giving false statements to state troopers and was later arrested and charged with criminal homicide, conspiracy to commit robbery, and theft. Desmond Dwayne Greene, 24, of Sharon, was arrested and arraigned on charges including murder, aggravated assault, multiple conspiracy and criminal attempt counts relating to robbery and burglary, and unlawful possession of a firearm; he was jailed without bond.
Kennedy’s death left family and the community grieving while investigators work through the criminal case. If anyone knew Harry or has information about who was in the Wallis Avenue residence that night, please come forward.
