Mijael Rodriguez-Ramirez was 24 when he was shot and killed during a robbery in Philadelphia on January 3, 2015. A Dominican Republic native who had recently moved to the United States, he had been working part time as a limo driver for La Primera Car Inc., having started about a week earlier. On the night of the killing he and his fiancée picked up three passengers in North Philadelphia. One passenger, later identified as Alonzo Dilligard, pulled a gun and demanded money. Rodriguez-Ramirez handed over $30; as the suspects exited the vehicle Dilligard fired, striking him in the face. The suspects fled and Dilligard took a cellphone before escaping.
Philadelphia Police arrested Dilligard on January 5, 2015, and charged him with the murder. A 21-year-old man was taken into custody for questioning and a third suspect remained at large. The company noted Rodriguez-Ramirez’s phone stopped working and its GPS location did not change, prompting them to alert police. His family described him as a hardworking man supporting his wife and young daughter; a Facebook post he made weeks earlier read live life to its fullest because tomorrow is not guaranteed.
A $20,000 reward was offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Does anyone have information about the third suspect or the events that night?
