Eleven-year-old Timothy King left his Birmingham, Michigan home on the evening of March 16, 1977 to walk a few blocks to a neighborhood pharmacy. After buying an item he disappeared into the pharmacy parking lot and did not return. Six days later, on March 22, 1977, his body was found in a shallow ditch alongside a road in Livonia. He had been sexually assaulted and suffocated; an autopsy noted he had been fed Kentucky Fried Chicken shortly before his death, his clothes appeared cleaned, and he seemed to have been groomed. His skateboard was recovered nearby.
Timothy’s murder was officially linked to a series of child abductions and killings attributed to the Oakland County Child Killer. The investigation involved local, state, and federal agencies, generated thousands of tips, and remains open; no arrest or conviction has been announced.
Did anyone in the Birmingham or Livonia area at that time remember seeing Timothy, his skateboard, or a suspicious vehicle that night?
