On a cold January evening in 2014, Louisa Tseng Krenzel, 48, was found dead in the snow in the driveway of her Long Lane home in rural Pike Township. She had been shoveling following recent snowfall when she was struck by multiple gunshots; one wound pierced her heart. Her estranged husband, Jules Krenzel, reported finding her frozen body at about 8 p.m. on January 22. Investigators estimate she was killed hours earlier, between 4 and 8 p.m., and bullet holes in the garage door about five feet from where she lay show she was shot from a distance while clearing the driveway.

Attention in the investigation soon focused on Jules. Louisa had obtained a protection-from-abuse order against him in July 2013 that required him to surrender firearms. Authorities later found he illegally possessed two rifles and two pistols; in October 2014 he pleaded guilty to four felony gun charges and received a prison sentence. The couple, married for a decade and parents of a young son, were estranged at the time and limited to custody exchanges at the home. No official suspect has been named in the murder; a reported sighting of an older white pickup near the scene that day has not produced a breakthrough.

Anyone with information about Louisa, the sighting of the pickup, or events that evening is asked to come forward.
