Joseph Ronald Boris, 60, was shot and killed outside his home in the 500 block of Indiana Avenue, Shenandoah Heights, around 11:30 a.m. on January 18, 2014. He was shot in the chest by his neighbor, 67-year-old Ronald Kozak, during an ongoing dispute between the two and was pronounced dead about 12:45 p.m. that day.
Kozak was taken into custody shortly after the shooting and was held in Schuylkill County Prison on criminal homicide charges; he faced first-degree murder charges in connection with Boris’s death. The dispute between the neighbors had reportedly been ongoing for years, though the specific trigger for the argument that day was not disclosed. The widow of Joseph Boris testified at the subsequent trial about the events leading up to his death.
Did anyone in the community have contact with either man or information about the long-running dispute that could shed light on what happened?
