Edward Trondell Baker was 24 when he was fatally shot in Minneapolis on May 24, 2011. His killing is among a number of murders of young African American men in the city from that period that remain unsolved.
Investigators faced reluctance from potential witnesses, with fear of retaliation and mistrust of authorities cited as factors that hampered the inquiry. The case came during a wider pattern of violence in Minneapolis in which a significant share of homicide victims were young African Americans, and investigators have urged anyone with information to step forward to help provide answers for Baker’s family.
Does anyone have information about Baker, his last known whereabouts, or the people who might have seen or heard something that night?
