Vishal Patel, 36, was shot and killed on November 28, 2022, during an altercation inside the Kwik Sak convenience store on Lebanon Pike in Hermitage, Tennessee. Patel, who had emigrated from India about ten years earlier, worked at the store, was a husband and the father of a nine-year-old daughter, and was remembered by the community as warm and hardworking.

Two 15-year-old boys from Kentucky, identified as Shawn Davis and Demarcus Boyd, entered the store and a brief argument escalated; Davis reportedly brandished a handgun and shot Patel while he was behind the counter. The teens fled in a stolen Kia Sorento but the vehicle was found later that evening at a nearby Arby’s and both were taken into custody. They admitted involvement to detectives and were charged with criminal homicide in juvenile court; they also face charges in connection with an aggravated robbery at a 7-Eleven the day before.

Does anyone who knew Vishal or who was in the Hermitage area that afternoon have information that could add to the record?
