On October 31, 2022, 32-year-old Travis Hulsey was shot and killed at the Rodeway Inn in Jackson, Tennessee, during an apparent robbery. Court testimony in the subsequent case says three people devised a plan to lure Hulsey to the motel because one of them, Keyanna Massengill, knew he would have money and drugs. A struggle took place during the attempted robbery and Hulsey was shot in the chest; the wound perforated his heart and lungs and his manner of death was ruled a homicide.
Investigators identified and arrested Charles Wilson, James Brown, and Keyanna Massengill. Charles Wilson was convicted by a Madison County Circuit Court jury of second-degree murder and facilitation of attempted simple robbery and received a 23-year sentence in the Department of Correction. James Brown entered a plea agreement with the state. The case against Keyanna Massengill was severed.
If anyone knew Travis Hulsey, saw him in Jackson in late October 2022, or has information about the events at the Rodeway Inn, please come forward with what was seen or heard.
