Jeffery Clark Evans, known to family as Dockery, was fatally shot on the morning of February 20, 2022, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Knoxville police responded to The Vista Apartments at 232 S. Hall of Fame Drive around 7:15 a.m. and found the 61-year-old Black man wounded by gunfire. He was taken to UT Medical Center but did not survive.

A witness reported hearing a gunshot and then seeing Evans and a suspect engaged in a close, physical struggle before the suspect fled the scene. Investigators later identified Santino Robinson, 32, as a suspect and sought him on an outstanding second-degree murder warrant. Officers arrested Robinson after stopping a vehicle at Park Street and Asheville Highway; police say he gave a false name at first and had drug paraphernalia when taken into custody.

Does anyone who knew Jeffery or who was near The Vista Apartments that morning have information that could help clarify what happened?
