Brian Lamont Warlick, 41, a Black man from Jackson, Tennessee, was found dead inside a Holly Street residence on November 2, 2021, the victim of multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators quickly ruled his death a homicide.
According to the investigation, a weeks-long dispute with Lavadious McKinney escalated that day. McKinney reportedly contacted his grandson, Lazachary Rhodes, to bring a firearm. Rhodes and Kelvin Polk waited in a vehicle across the street, then entered the home intending to commit a robbery. Rhodes allegedly shot Warlick multiple times; Rhodes and Polk fled. Police recovered three handguns from the vehicle and ballistics linked one of them to shell casings at the scene.
Arrests were made: Lavadious McKinney, Lazachary Rhodes, and Kelvin Polk were charged with first-degree murder, murder in the perpetration of aggravated robbery, especially aggravated robbery, and possessing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony; McKinney also faced a charge of felon in possession of a weapon. Does anyone have information about the dispute leading up to that day or saw activity near Holly Street on November 2, 2021?
