Andrew James Geerts, a 40-year-old man from Smyrna, Tennessee, was found dead at his Bridgewater Drive home on February 29, 2020, alongside his fiancée, 43-year-old Melissa Nale Backer. Police determined both victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds and that the deaths were a double homicide described as the result of a robbery gone wrong.

Investigators identified and detained four people after receiving corroborated information on March 5, 2020; arrests were made March 6. Those taken into custody included one adult, 19-year-old Chazz Eckford, and three juveniles. All were charged with First Degree Murder, Especially Aggravated Robbery, and Aggravated Burglary. One defendant who was 16 at the time was tried as an adult, admitted to being the shooter, and was acquitted on eight murder charges but convicted of aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary; trials for the other defendants remained pending.

Geerts was a father of two sons who enjoyed songwriting, fishing, and helping others. Does anyone have information or residential camera footage from the Bridgewater Drive area on February 29, 2020 that could help fill gaps in the timeline?
