On December 29, 2019, 19-year-old Joshua Haley and his 20-year-old brother Christian Haley were fatally shot inside their apartment at the Rocky Top Apartments on Bedrock Way in Knoxville, Tennessee. Police responded to a call about 5:41 p.m. and found both brothers deceased; Joshua had been shot five times and Christian eight times.

Investigators determined the killings followed a planned robbery aimed at taking marijuana from the brothers. Three suspects were identified and arrested in connection with the double homicide: 33-year-old James Edward Allen, a 17-year-old, and a 16-year-old. During interviews the suspects admitted they intended to rob the Haley brothers and were armed; the robbery reportedly escalated into the deadly shootings. All three faced charges including two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of especially aggravated robbery.

The loss left family and the Knoxville community mourning two young lives. If anyone has information about the shootings or knew Joshua or Christian, please share what you can with Knoxville police.
