Dennis Carter, a 65-year-old white man from Grundy County, was shot outside the Rebel motorcycle group’s clubhouse on Pike Hill Road in Warren County, Tennessee, on the night of June 1, 2019. He was airlifted from McMinnville to Erlanger Hospital but died of his injuries a few hours later. Carter was a Tennessee National Guard veteran and a member of the Rebel motorcycle group.

Investigators identified three fellow club members as suspects. Kate Prichard, 27, was arrested and charged with criminal homicide; Timothy Baer, 53, of Murfreesboro, was later arrested on the same charge; and John Cherry, 65, also of Murfreesboro, was subsequently charged with criminal homicide. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting occurred during a gathering of the motorcycle group; no clear motive has been publicly released.
