Kelly Weaver, 52, was killed on February 13, 2019, at a dental office on Clinic Drive in Kingsport, Tennessee. Her estranged husband, 63-year-old Harry Weaver of Blountville, entered the offices through a back door while Kelly, who worked there, was in the process of divorcing him. Harry Weaver fatally shot Kelly inside the practice.
A patient in the office, Larry Seagroves, who had a concealed-carry permit, intervened by drawing his handgun and shooting Harry Weaver. Responding officers found Seagroves standing over the shooter with his weapon pointed at him; law enforcement later praised Seagroves’s actions. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation assisted the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.
Harry Weaver was hospitalized, charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault, and after changing his plea he pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment. On October 29, 2019, a judge sentenced him to life in prison and ordered no contact with Kelly’s family. Kelly was remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother. Does anyone have memories of Kelly or information about her life they can share for the family’s record?
