A dispute in the Montgomery Village area of South Knoxville on May 1, 2018, ended with the death of 33-year-old Terrance Campbell. According to reports, an argument between Campbell and 20-year-old Joseph Lewis escalated to gunfire. Campbell was shot, ran and collapsed behind an apartment building on Daylily Drive, and later died at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Police identified Joseph Lewis as the suspect in the days after the shooting. He surrendered to authorities in Metro-Nashville, was interviewed, and was transferred to Knox County. By February of the following year a Knox County grand jury indicted Lewis, then 21, on second-degree murder, using a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and tampering with evidence; he was held in the Knox County jail pending further proceedings.
If anyone witnessed the shooting on Daylily Drive or saw either man in the Montgomery Village area that evening, please share what you remember.
