Bradley Charles Bivens, 48, was shot and killed on the evening of Thursday, February 22, 2018, at a residence on Sinking Springs Road in Clinton, Tennessee. Deputies from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office were called to the home about 8:30 p.m. and found Bivens deceased in or near the garage area with a fatal gunshot wound; a .45-caliber shell casing was located next to his body.
Witnesses told investigators Bivens and 45-year-old Christopher Lee Roberts, also of Clinton, argued in the garage. The homeowner said he saw Roberts pull a handgun on Bivens, a struggle for the weapon followed, and the gun discharged, striking Bivens. Another resident reported hearing the argument and a loud noise, and Roberts was reportedly heard saying he had messed up immediately afterward.
Roberts was sought by the sheriff’s department and was arrested without incident on February 27, 2018, at a relative’s home in Clinton. He was booked on a charge of criminal homicide and held without bond. Did anyone in the Clinton area witness the argument that night or have information about what led to the altercation?
