On June 22, 2017, 18-year-old Jaloen Morris of Michigan was fatally shot in Knoxville, Tennessee. Morris had traveled to Knoxville with another 18-year-old, Sergio Rivera, to meet at Montgomery Village Apartments in South Knoxville for what they believed was a purchase of high-grade marijuana. While sitting in a minivan, Morris and Rivera were ambushed; both died of gunshot wounds. A 16-year-old passenger, Damien Lee, survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators quickly identified teenage suspects. Two were moved from juvenile court to Knox County Criminal Court: 15-year-old Rico Little Rico Cook and 17-year-old Deon Nolbert. A third person, 23-year-old Kristopher Johnson, was later charged in connection with the murders and a robbery while already incarcerated on an unrelated case.
Did anyone who knew Jaloen or the other victims see them in Knoxville around June 22, 2017, or have information about the meeting at Montgomery Village Apartments?
