Jerome Phillip ’Jroc’ Locke, a 27-year-old Black or African American man, was killed in Knoxville, Tennessee, on June 17, 2017. Locke was driving his Audi A6 on Meadow View Road when another vehicle pulled alongside and multiple gunshots were fired into his car. Locke lost control of the Audi and crashed into a tree; he was found deceased inside from multiple gunshot wounds.
A female passenger, Danielle Harris, survived and was extricated from the wreckage, then taken to a local medical center with non-life-threatening injuries. The shooting vehicle fled before police arrived. Investigators believe the attack stemmed from a prior confrontation rather than being random. No suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been made; Locke left behind three sons.
Anyone with information that could help investigators or the family is asked to come forward.
