On April 28, 2017, 23-year-old Marshall Allen Pinsley of Blaine, Tennessee, was shot and killed in the parking lot of the Walmart on Tanner Lane in Clinton, Tennessee. The shooting followed a chance meeting on a nearby road and a confrontation in the busy parking lot; Pinsley exited his car and approached the driver’s side of another vehicle before being struck by a single, fatal gunshot. He was pronounced dead at the scene near the store’s lawn and garden entrance after emergency responders arrived about 1:15 p.m.
Authorities say the dispute that led to the confrontation involved an ongoing disagreement over child visitation between Pinsley and the other man connected to the family by marriage. The Clinton Police Department handled the investigation, conducting witness interviews and reviewing surveillance footage that identified the shooter.
Does anyone have information about Pinsley, the day’s events, or witnesses who were in the Walmart parking lot that afternoon?
