On July 20, 2016, 25-year-old Zaccari A. Miller was shot dead inside a Donelson Drive residence in Kingsport, Tennessee. Officers arrived about 2:00 AM and found Miller just inside the front door with a gunshot wound to the back of his head or neck. He is remembered as a man who loved family, the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
Another man at the scene, Quinten A. Shelton, was in the living room with blood on his hands and shirt but was not injured. Investigators say Miller and Shelton were acquaintances who argued, and that Shelton produced a handgun and shot Miller. Detectives allege Shelton tried to conceal his actions by placing the firearm in Miller’s hand; conflicting statements and scene evidence led to Shelton’s arrest on charges of Second Degree Murder and Tampering with Evidence. Shelton was booked into the Kingsport City Jail pending arraignment.
If anyone knew Zaccari or has information about what happened that night, please share tips or recollections.
