On the evening of January 4, 2016, 26-year-old James Brown, also known as J.L. Bey, answered a knock at his Isaac Drive home in Clarksville, Tennessee. He spoke with an unknown individual or individuals outside, then was struck by multiple gunshots. Brown stumbled back into the house and collapsed; Clarksville Police arrived just before 8:00 p.m. and found him deceased.
Witnesses said a Black male wearing an orange shirt with short braids ran from the residence and got into a sedan that fled the area. Detectives also identified two vehicles on surveillance near the time of the shooting: a dark-colored, single-cab, long-bed 1990s Chevrolet or GMC truck with chrome bed rails and mirrors, and a dark-colored sedan. Crime Stoppers offered a reward, but no arrests have been announced and the case remains unsolved.
Does anyone who lived in the Isaac Drive area in early January 2016 recall seeing the described truck, the sedan, or the man in the orange shirt?
