Five-year-old Andrew Turner was killed by a single gunshot in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, on the evening of November 21, 2015. Andrew, described as a lively child who loved swimming, Star Wars and Spider-Man, was at home with his father and an older sibling when the shooting occurred.

The firearm was reportedly left within reach of the children. The older sibling picked up the gun, thinking it was a toy and attempting to turn on the laser; the trigger was pulled and the round struck Andrew, who later died despite emergency medical attention.

The Goodlettsville Police Department investigated and the case was reviewed by the Davidson County District Attorney’s Office; no charges were filed. Anyone who knew Andrew or who has information about this incident is asked to come forward.
