Kendrick Pointer, a 36-year-old Black man, was fatally shot outside his Greens of Rivergate apartment in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, on the evening of January 5, 2015. An unidentified man reportedly approached Pointer and opened fire; emergency services took Pointer to a local hospital where he later died.
Witnesses reported the shooter fled the scene in a light blue Ford Taurus or a similar-bodied vehicle such as a Mercury Sable. A red SUV was also reported to have been involved in the getaway. Goodlettsville detectives launched a homicide investigation and appealed to the public for information that could identify and apprehend those responsible.
No arrests have been announced and the case remains unsolved. Anyone with information, no matter how small, is asked to contact the investigators and help bring answers for Pointer’s family and the community.
