Clarence Doris Minter Jr., 25, was shot through his bedroom window in the early morning of December 10, 2014, while at home on Fisher Street in Bolivar, Tennessee. A single bullet struck the right side of his jaw at about 3:15 a.m. He was taken to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis and died of his injuries on December 19, 2014.
Born January 6, 1989, Minter was a 2007 graduate of Bolivar Central High School and had attended Tennessee State University and the Tennessee Technology Center to study automotive repair. He was the father of a three-year-old daughter, Caitlyn.
Investigators pursued a prolonged inquiry that included several smaller arrests tied to a rash of shootings in the city. On February 18, 2015, authorities announced arrests of 20-year-olds Kuryakin Rashad Woods, charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and Johnathan Shaquille Genes, charged with conspiracy to commit murder. The police said the related arrests had coincided with a drop in violent crime in Bolivar.
Did anyone in Bolivar at the time know Clarence or have information about the shooting that could help clarify what happened?
