Brandon Lamont Gardner, 27, was fatally shot in a drive-by attack on November 10, 2014, on South Main Street in Springfield, Tennessee. Neighbors reported hearing a burst of gunfire around 8 p.m.; officers found Gardner on the ground with a bystander performing CPR. He was taken to NorthCrest Medical Center and pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Another man, 21-year-old Mandrekus Young, was wounded in the same incident and later flown to Vanderbilt with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardner had survived an earlier shooting on May 11, 2014, when his red Impala was riddled with bullets and he drove himself to NorthCrest Medical Center before being airlifted to Vanderbilt. One person of interest from that May incident, 39-year-old Alan Jermaine Gardner, surrendered and faced attempt-to-kill and weapons charges; authorities said he was not related to the victim. The November homicide investigation focused on two men, 19-year-old Wyatt Cragin and 20-year-old Travis Wilkerson, who were later indicted on first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and aggravated assault. Cragin was arrested March 5, 2015; Wilkerson was already in custody on other matters.

Did anyone in Springfield have contact with Brandon or the families involved around 2014 who can add details about what happened that night?
