Angela Beverly, 39, was fatally shot outside her home on Eagle View Drive in Kodak, Tennessee, on September 24, 2014. She worked as a first assistant manager at a Sevierville McDonald’s and had recently graduated in criminal justice from South College; she hoped to become the restaurant’s manager.
That morning Angela was taking out the trash when her estranged husband, 45-year-old Andrew Beverly, arrived with a gun intending to confront a man who was living with Angela. A physical struggle occurred; a friend inside the house, Jabari Shariff Dial, saw Andrew hold Angela around her shoulders and head before shooting her with a small black firearm. Andrew fled to Harlan County, Kentucky, but was arrested the same day at a convenience store and returned to Sevier County after waiving extradition. In a jailhouse interview he said he did not mean to shoot her, claiming the gun went off when he grabbed her, and admitted he had gone to the house to harm or kill the man living with Angela.
Court records and the investigation noted a history of domestic violence: Angela had filed for an order of protection and reported a physical assault in August 2014 for which she received medical treatment. Does anyone have information about the months leading up to September 24, 2014, or knew Angela and her situation?
