Jeffrey Nelson, 57, was found dead in his Westwood Avenue home in Jackson, Tennessee, on July 12, 2014. The discovery came after his son, Clayton Nelson, called police to request a welfare check. Officers determined Jeffrey had suffered a violent beating and stabbing.
The investigation focused on Clayton, then 29, who lived in the same duplex. Investigators reported a bloody shoe print at the scene that matched Clayton’s. Family testimony described a strained relationship; Jeffrey had been increasingly worried about Clayton’s erratic behavior and had said he intended to evict him. Clayton had a history of violent behavior and struggled with a cocaine addiction, which investigators noted as a possible factor.
If anyone knew Jeffrey or Clayton, or has information about what happened that night, please share what you know.
