On the morning of December 15, 2013, 19-year-old James Tyler Wisdom was fatally shot in an apartment on Union Place Court in Columbia, Tennessee. He sustained a single fatal gunshot wound to the head while in the kitchen area; the bullet travelled through the floor from an upstairs room.
Responding officers found the two men from upstairs outside the residence, reportedly extremely distraught and hysterical as they described what had happened. The incident was first investigated as an accidental shooting.
The investigation continued and a grand jury later returned an indictment for reckless homicide against the man who was handling the pistol; he was arrested in another state and was awaiting extradition to face the charge. Wisdom’s family and friends remember him as fun-loving and dedicated.
Did anyone in Columbia have contact with James or knowledge of the apartment on Union Place Court around December 15, 2013?
