Kevin Dewayne Smith Jr., a 16-year-old from Knoxville known to family as Man Man, was killed by a single gunshot to the head on December 3, 2008. The shooting occurred inside an apartment in the 400 block of Hall of Fame Drive in downtown Knoxville. Smith was taken to the U.T. Medical Center, where he later died.

The case remains an open, unsolved homicide. The Knoxville Police Department has reported no significant leads that have produced arrests, and investigators have made no charges in the case.
