Marissa Dikeman, 19, of Crosby, Texas, was killed on December 29, 2022. A student at Houston Christian University studying educational administration, she was at home helping two 17-year-old coworkers take down Christmas decorations when the shooting occurred. Authorities say one of the teens, identified as 17-year-old Cayman Wilson, allegedly found a shotgun, pointed it toward a door as a prank and called Dikeman in; when she approached, Wilson fired and struck her. Paramedics pronounced Dikeman dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the shotgun belonged to one of Dikeman’s roommates, who were not present. Wilson was booked into the Harris County Jail on a manslaughter charge with bond set at $50,000; the other 17-year-old present was not charged. Family and friends remember Dikeman as loving and hardworking and say she had a bright future. The case remains under investigation.
