Bethany Ann England, 17, of Greenville, Texas, died on November 22, 2022, after being struck by a rifle shot at a home in the 2100 block of Henry Street. Police say an 18-year-old male was handling a rifle he believed to be unloaded; when he pulled the trigger the rifle discharged and Bethany was fatally wounded. The 18-year-old was arrested and charged with manslaughter; authorities have not released his name.

Bethany was a student at Paris Junior College and an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Funeral services were held December 2, 2022, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with burial at Memoryland Memorial Park. The community and her family remember her for her vibrant personality and kind heart.
