David Height III, a 27-year-old man from Abilene, Texas, was fatally shot on June 25, 2022, outside Spanky P’s Tavern on the 2400 block of South Seventh Street. He was on his way to the hospital after being shot but succumbed to his injuries. His death was the sixth homicide in Abilene that year.

Authorities say witnesses and surveillance footage from the bar identified 26-year-old Julion Xavias Arredondo as the person who fired the shots. Arredondo was arrested later that day at a residence in northwest Abilene and charged with first-degree felony murder; bond was set at $250,000. Investigators reported Height was shot twice, once while standing and again after walking around a car, though some circumstances of the shooting have not been disclosed.

Height is remembered by family and friends as a fun, goofy man who loved to make people laugh and as a devoted father to his 5-year-old daughter, Kamdyn Jewels Height. Did anyone in the Abilene area see or hear anything near Spanky P’s on June 25, 2022, that could help fill gaps in the timeline?
