Francisco Nesmith, 33, was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head at a home on Schley Street in Alice, Texas, on March 20, 2022. Police were called about 2 p.m. that Sunday; reports say Nesmith had been in the area borrowing a car when he was shot.
Two men were arrested in connection with the killing. Thirty-three-year-old Mark Anthony Gonzalez was taken into custody later that evening when he returned to the scene and was booked into the Jim Wells County Jail with bond set at $250,000 on the murder charge and no bond for a parole violation. A second suspect, 40-year-old Roberto Robby Ramirez, was arrested on March 30, 2022, and also booked into the Jim Wells County Jail on murder charges. The investigation is ongoing as authorities gather evidence to build their case.
Anyone with information about Nesmith, the events on Schley Street that afternoon, or the arrests is asked to come forward.
