Eric Matthew Wynns, 44, of Longview, Texas, was shot to death at his East Nelson Street residence on March 19, 2022. Wynns recorded the shooting on his mobile phone; investigators reviewed several videos from the scene that captured the escalating confrontation.

Police identified 49-year-old Michael Lee Ralston as the suspect. The dispute reportedly began over text messages Ralston had sent Wynns and included ongoing tensions and noise feuds between the men. During the altercation Ralston allegedly produced a gun and shot Wynns while Wynns was videotaping him. Wynns’ brother and roommate, Johnathan Dillard, was injured; Ralston was also charged with aggravated assault for that injury after an alleged stabbing.
