Zayden Ryder Worley was an 8-year-old boy from Eustace, Texas who died on January 29, 2022. He was described as a social, active child who enjoyed basketball and baseball and was survived by his parents Crystal Meeks and Robert Worley and grandparents Jerry Don Meeks and Shauna Manwell.
Initial reports described Zayden’s death as an accidental shooting from a stray bullet coming from a wooded area. The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office later reported inconsistencies with that account. An autopsy at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Science found the injury was not consistent with a stray bullet. Investigators found a small caliber firearm on the property, interviewed neighbors and examined physical evidence, and a 14-year-old was arrested and charged with Zayden’s murder. The sheriff’s office worked with the Texas Rangers and Child Protective Services during the investigation.
Does anyone have information about Zayden, the property where this happened, or what neighbors observed that day?
