Felton Hendrix Jones, 30, of Beaumont, Texas, was shot multiple times while sitting in his vehicle in the driveway of a house on the 2200 block of Taylor Street shortly before midnight on January 1, 2022. He had gone to the house to pick up his 4-month-old child. Jones was later found inside his vehicle in the 4500 block of Bethlehem Avenue and died of his wounds.

Investigation connected 23-year-old Kedrain Deshawn Perkins of Beaumont to the killing. Evidence on Perkins’ phone placed him in the area at the time of the shooting, and Perkins admitted to a third party that he was involved. Perkins was arrested and indicted on two counts of murder, one count for Jones and one for a separate January 30, 2022, shooting of Isaiah Brandon Wagner. He was in custody on the later case when charged in Jones’ death and was being held in the Jefferson County Jail on $2 million bond; both cases were pending trial.

Jones’ family and friends remember him as a loving father and son. If anyone has information about Jones’ killing or was in the area the night of January 1, 2022, please come forward with what was seen or heard.
