Calogero Louis Dueñes, 24, was fatally shot on December 31, 2021, in Humble, Texas. He was carrying his 6-year-old daughter’s birthday cake outside a Chuck E. Cheese while his wife Amber Uresti and their two daughters were inside. Surveillance footage showed a man later identified as 27-year-old Antoine Daniel Badon driving the wrong way down a row of parking spaces and nearly striking Dueñes with his car; an argument followed and Badon pulled out a gun and shot Dueñes before fleeing.
Badon was arrested on January 5, 2022, and charged with murder along with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and assault of a family/household member. Investigators say the same gun was used in a January 2, 2022 convenience store shooting that wounded two other people, and that evidence links that weapon to Dueñes’s killing. Dueñes’s obituary describes him as a devoted father and family man who enjoyed gaming and close time with relatives.
Anyone who witnessed the incident in the Chuck E. Cheese parking area or has information about the events that evening is asked to come forward.
