Jamal Narcisse, a 29-year-old man from Baytown, Texas, was killed on December 3, 2021 after a physical altercation with his girlfriend that was witnessed by her brother, Daviyeon Cooper. Police allege Cooper shot and killed Narcisse; investigators say Cooper and an accomplice were in a small dark-colored sedan at the time. Cooper was arrested and charged with capital murder; bond was set at $100,000.
After Narcisse’s death, his mother, Yvonne Narcisse, held a candlelight vigil at her food truck, Yvonne’s Famous Kitchen, near North Market Loop in Baytown. During the vigil a gunman opened fire, killing 25-year-old Disha Allen and wounding 13 others; Yvonne Narcisse was shot in the foot. The suspect fled in a dark-colored sedan that was later found abandoned and on fire.
The Baytown Police Department and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are investigating and asking anyone with information to come forward.
