Dwyndell Chase Perrault Jr., an 18-year-old from Beaumont, Texas, died on November 9, 2021 after being found inside a residence in the 1300 block of Edwin Street with a single gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced deceased.

Beaumont police reported the wound was believed to be unintentionally self-inflicted, so foul play was not suspected and the case was not treated as a murder. Detectives continued to investigate the circumstances to ensure a full accounting, and no arrests or suspects were identified because the death was classified as an accident.
