Wendon Lekeith Blair, a 25-year-old African American man, was shot and killed on November 5, 2021, at a house on Eldorado Drive in DeSoto, Texas. The shooting happened in the pre-dawn hours during a small gathering. Blair was found wounded and unresponsive inside the home and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man, 22-year-old Kristian Tyerone Smith, was found lying on the pavement outside and was taken into emergency surgery; he was later placed under police custody. Police say the incident grew out of an altercation over a woman attending the gathering. Smith reportedly came to the door demanding to see the woman, was not allowed inside, and shot Blair; Blair returned fire and struck Smith before dying.

No arrests or other suspects have been named in connection with Blair’s death and the investigation remains ongoing. Does anyone who knew Blair or who was at the gathering have information that could help investigators?
