On December 28, 2015, at about 12:15 a.m., police were called to a residence at 9347 Bales Drive in southern Kansas City after reports of a shooting. First responders found 20-year-old Teontae Henderson-Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital but died shortly after arrival.
The Kansas City Police Department’s Homicide Unit opened an investigation, canvassed the area and sought forensic evidence and witnesses. Early reports gave few details about the circumstances or motive. The case remains unsolved and no suspects have been publicly identified or charged; the department has offered a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest.
Anyone who remembers that night or has information about the shooting on Bales Drive is asked to contact the TIPS Hotline or the case detective.
