Martin Jones, 46, of Wichita Falls, Texas, was shot during a neighborly dispute on October 9, 2021, in the 100 block of Evergreen Drive and died at United Regional Health Care System on October 13, 2021 from complications of gunshot wounds. The shooting followed an ongoing feud with neighbor Noel Ramirez Martin, after Jones had reported criminal mischief alleging Martin had busted out most of his car windows.
Noel Ramirez Martin, 33, was indicted on murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and also faced charges of misdemeanor criminal mischief and felony possession of methamphetamine. He told authorities he fired in self-defense, saying Jones ran at him and threatened his life and his family’s lives.
At trial in the 78th District Court a jury of eight women and four men found Noel Ramirez Martin guilty of murder and unlawful possession of a firearm on November 1, 2022. Jones’ widow Natasha and their 13-year-old daughter Bethany testified about the impact of his death. Does anyone have information about the feud between the neighbors or the days before the shooting?
