Trinidad Marry, a 42-year-old man from Amarillo, Texas, was shot and killed by an Amarillo police officer on August 23, 2021, after a confrontation near the 500 block of South Bivins Street at about 8 p.m. Officers had responded to reports that Marry was walking through the 5th and Browning neighborhood while pointing a gun at people. When officers confronted him, he refused to drop the weapon and a shootout followed, during which an officer fatally shot Marry.

The investigation remained open and police asked anyone with information or video footage to come forward. A Potter County grand jury later reviewed the case and issued a no bill, concluding the officers acted appropriately; that decision was part of a broader review of two recent Amarillo officer-involved shootings. The fatal encounter prompted community concerns about police conduct and use of force.

Does anyone have information or footage that could shed more light on what happened that night?
