I was reading about the tragic loss of David Anthony Rios and felt compelled to say something about the role his church community played in his life. It’s clear he was a man of faith, being a member of the Columbus First Church of Nazarene, and I think that says volumes about the person he was. In times like these, a strong community bond can mean everything, not just for David but for his family who has to carry on without him. I hope the values and support from his church are providing some solace to his loved ones during this unbelievably difficult time. It's heartbreaking to think about how a person as warm and welcoming as David, who was so involved and kind, could be taken so suddenly and violently. Those who knew him personally are in my thoughts, and I hope justice is served swiftly so that his family and the community can find some measure of peace.
