Skyler Monroe Mills, 24, of Harker Heights, Texas, was shot to death at her apartment in the 400 block of Brittney Way on July 31, 2021. She was described as someone who loved travel and water activities and whose death left a deep void for family and friends.

On the night she died, officers responded to multiple disturbance calls. They found Skyler’s female roommate with visible injuries; the roommate said a man had forced entry, argued with Skyler, then shot her multiple times. The roommate also reported being dragged by the hair and threatened with the gun.

A suspect, Jeremiah Lane Mitchell, 22, of Killeen, Texas, was arrested on September 11, 2021, and charged with capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; court filings say the attack was part of a robbery attempt. Skyler’s family remembers her through tributes and memorials.

Does anyone have information about Skyler’s last evening or the people who were in that neighborhood that night?
