Conrad Garcia III, a 32-year-old Hispanic man from Corpus Christi, Texas, was shot just after 4 a.m. on July 25, 2021, outside a business on the 4500 block of Weber Road and died later that day. He was a father, brother, uncle, friend and an active member of the Street Celebrities Car Club who enjoyed fixing and racing cars, playing video games and spending time with family.

The Corpus Christi Police Department linked multiple suspects to the scene. Two 25-year-olds, Vanessa Salas and Jean Martinez, were arrested on charges including aggravated robbery and capital murder, with bond set at $1,100,000 each. A 40-year-old, Johnny Alvarez, was also arrested on capital murder charges, had two additional felony warrants, and was found in possession of a firearm. The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Offender Fugitive Task Force assisted in the apprehensions.
