Tyler Trip Womack, a 29-year-old man from Beaumont, Texas, died of multiple gunshot wounds and was found on a porch in the early morning of July 11, 2021. He was pronounced dead at the scene after being discovered with significant injuries; investigators say the shooting happened elsewhere and a trail of blood led to the residence where he was found.
Authorities arrested and indicted several people in connection with the killing. Jacorry Green, already jailed on a robbery charge, admitted guilt in a plea agreement and provided information identifying other suspects. Terry Jerome Booker was also arrested and indicted. The lead prosecutor says Green and Booker were not the shooters; two other men, already in jail on unrelated charges, are identified as the alleged gunmen. Prosecutors have described robbery as the motive.
Womack was remembered locally for a positive attitude, his work as a pipeline inspector, and his role organizing the KIP Keep It Positive Movement. He is survived by his parents, children, a sister, and many relatives and friends. If anyone knew Tyler or has information that could help the ongoing prosecutions, please come forward.
