Steven Christopher Gambles II, 32, was shot and killed in Plano, Texas, on July 7, 2021. He had been walking to meet a friend for dinner at the Shops at Legacy when Jordan Christopher Jacobs, 25, reportedly suspected Gambles of staring at his girlfriend.

Surveillance footage shown in the investigation allegedly captured Jacobs confronting Gambles, pointing a stolen firearm at his head and shooting him in the temple when Gambles did not comply. Gambles was found shortly before midnight with a gunshot wound and pronounced dead at a hospital.

Jacobs was arrested on July 10, 2021, charged with murder and later found guilty of capital murder; the case was prosecuted by Assistant Criminal District Attorneys Calli Bailey and Marisa Dunagan. The Collin County District Attorney’s Office described the killing as senseless.

If anyone saw activity near the Shops at Legacy that night or has information about Gambles’ final movements, please come forward.
