Pablo Vuittonet, a 56-year-old Hispanic man, was shot and killed on June 10, 2021, on North Commerce Street in Harlingen, Texas. He was found with a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to a local hospital, where he died. The Harlingen Police Department opened an investigation into the shooting.
Authorities arrested 66-year-old Jose Baldemar Gonzalez in connection with the case and charged him with first-degree murder; bond was set at $1 million. The police did not immediately disclose a motive. Gonzalez was later tried; the jury acquitted him of murder and aggravated assault but convicted him of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, resulting in a 10-year prison sentence. The trial ran from April 22, 2024 to April 25, 2024.
Vuittonet’s family and the Harlingen community remember him for his big heart, sense of humor, faith, and devotion to family. Does anyone have information about what led up to the shooting or knew Pablo’s movements that day?
